ABSTRACT: This research explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on vocational job roles and skills, examining how AI technologies are reshaping the vocational landscape. The objectives were to (1) identify the AI technologies influencing vocational job roles, (2) assess the impact of AI on the skills required for vocational jobs, and (3) evaluate the challenges and opportunities presented by AI integration in vocational education. A survey design was employed to gather data from vocational educators, students, and industry professionals, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of AI's influence. The sample size consisted of 180 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include those with direct experience and knowledge of AI applications in vocational settings. The case study was conducted in Ogun State, Nigeria, an area with a growing technology sector. Findings revealed that AI technologies, such as automation and machine learning, significantly altered job roles and skill requirements, necessitating continuous upskilling and reskilling of the workforce. Challenges included a gap in AI-related knowledge and skills among educators and students, and the need for updated curricula. Recommendations included incorporating AI-related modules into vocational training programs, providing professional development for educators, and fostering industry partnerships to ensure alignment with current technological trends.
